The Schiele Museum of Natural History and Planetarium

Founded by Rudolph “Bud” Schiele in 1961, The Schiele Museum of Natural History is committed to providing visitors with experiences that inspire curiosity about science and the natural world. The Schiele’s exceptional museum exhibits include dinosaur fossils, wildlife displays, gems and minerals, and American Indian artifacts. In addition, the museum has a state-of-the-art planetarium, a Nature Trail, a replica Catawba Indian Village, and “The Farm”, a showcase of local agriculture and live animals. The museum offers engaging learning opportunities for all ages through public programs, field trips, outreach experiences, and camps.
