Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. This day commemorates African American freedom and emphasizes education and achievement. Come celebrate our third annual hosting of Juneteenth festivities with performances, vendors, crafts, children's activities and educational opportunities!

A CAPITOL FOURTH: 250TH WEEKEND CELEBRATION kicks off America’s Semiquincentennial - and we’re going all out! Broadcasting live on July 3rd from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol, A Capitol Fourth: 250 Weekend Celebration will feature the national television debut of country music icon Trace Adkins’ new song “American Made”, along with spectacular fireworks live from George Washington's Mount Vernon. Tune in July 3rd at 8 pm/7c on public television stations nationwide (check local listings), and for American Forces Network for service members around the world. Mark your calendar to join us!
