One of Gaffney's most distinguished historic buildings stands at the intersection of West Frederick Street and North Granard streets. The century-old structure was originally Gaffney's first federal Post Office building; but to meet the changing needs of a growing community, the Post Office relocated in 1992. With the goals of preserving and repurposing the treasured historic property, the City of Gaffney acquired the building in 2009. The building reopened in September 2010 as the Gaffney Visitors Center and Art Gallery, at 201 West Frederick Street. The Visitors center staff welcomes travelers and offers informational resources to help them Gat Into Gaffney. Guests can gather free materials such as maps, lodging and housing information, dining menus, shopping guides, event schedules, local attraction information, telephone books, event information, and more.
