• Tools and techniques used to explore and observe the ocean and its inhabitants
• Characteristics of different ocean habitats and the layers of the ocean
• Adaptations of ocean organisms and how they help organisms survive
• Connection between campers and the ocean
Camp Activities Include:
• Guided exploration of Discovery Place’s World Alive Aquarium and Touch Tank
• Conducting experiments to test ocean adaptations
• Engineering tools to study underwater habitats
• Discovering the different organisms found in each ocean layer.
Highlights:
• Working as a team to solve the mystery of the Ruby Sparrow and discovering the secrets hidden in the wreck of this notorious pirate ship
• Seeing how real-world scientists are studying the ocean in Discovery Place’s traveling exhibition, OceanXperience
• Creating glowing deep-sea art based on the adaptation of ocean inhabitants
