Animal Adventures Camp > Rising Kindergartner

Our planet is home to so many incredible creatures! Future zoologists will meet Animal Ambassadors and learn about the unique characteristics, life cycles, and senses of amazing animals from around the world.

Themes Explored:
• Identification and classification of animals
• How animals meet their needs in their natural habitats
• Life cycles of different animals • Unique and unusual animal senses, physical characteristics, and locomotion
• Importance of biodiversity

Camp Activities Include:
• Interacting with real animal specimens
• Mimicking animal behaviors through gross motor games and imaginative play
• Creating mixed-media art projects emphasizing unique animal traits
• Conducting science experiments to uncover the mechanisms of animal adaptations

Highlights:
• Meeting Animal Ambassadors, including snakes, turtles, and hissing cockroaches
• Exploring life science specimens currently stored in the Museum’s collections
• Visiting a two-story rainforest and observing the animals that call it home
