This camp introduces campers to the exciting world of 3D design and fabrication through hands-on creation. Campers learn how 3D printers work as they design and create fun and unique structures and objects—from initial ideas to finished, printed models.
Using beginner-friendly CAD tools, campers develop original designs while learning skills such as prototyping and CAD development. They see their ideas rendered in three dimensions and printed on a 3D printer. Campers also use 3Doodler pens to create structures by drawing in the air, working both freestyle and with templates to explore form, balance, and spatial design.
Throughout the week, campers explore engineering concepts and learn how designers think about shape, structure, and function. The camp is interactive and designed to help campers optimize designs while creating a wide variety of three-dimensional objects. Campers also learn how 3D printing is used in real-life science and technology applications, connecting their creations to the real world.
