Raptors Rock! Summer Day Camp

*The event has already taken place on this date: Fri, 08/14/2020
Summer camp all over the US will look a little different this summer as we work to keep our staff, our volunteers and our campers safe. The great outdoors provides a wonderful classroom that we are excited to introduce our campers to through our on-campus camps in 2020. Out of an abundance of caution, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our June camps and begin in person camps with limited capacity starting July 6.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

Introducing the Zlaty Camp Scolarship Fund
The Zlaty Fund was created by Ruth Pollow, a volunteer at Carolina Raptor Center, in honor of the Golden Eagle Zlaty who passed away in December 2018. Zlaty was a gentle Golden Eagle and a true ambassador for his species. He arrived at Carolina Raptor Center in 1985 and traveled with staff to inspire and teach students about raptors. Over the years he traveled to schools, bird conferences, events, and even took part in the centers summer bird show. He was a special eagle that left an impact on staff, volunteers and those who had the fortunate chance to meet him. He touched the hearts of many and inspired Ruth to create this scholarship fund to continue to keep his spirit alive by helping students in the community.
