Featuring fun, interactive pre-show lobby activities that relate to the performance, children are encouraged to experience and learn about the ballet in an informal theater setting. Thanks to the continued support of The Leon Levine Foundation, funding bolsters our initiative to bring more families to Charlotte Ballet performances and provides lower ticket prices for children for our Fall and Spring Works Family Matinees.
FAMILY MATINEE EXPERIENCE INCLUDES
Special Pre-Show Activities
Before the performance there are special family-friendly activities in the lobby, such as tutu-making or dancing, to educate children on concepts they will see in the ballet.
Abbreviated Performance
An abbreviated, one-hour performance with shortened versions of programmed works or focus on select pieces.
On-Stage Host
An on-stage host at our Fall Works and Spring Works matinee, either a staff member or dancer, to guide the experience and offer behind-the-scenes insights!
Spring Works captures the beauty and power of our artists through choreographic masterpieces. As artists and athletes, they pull us into the performance and the impact stays with us long after we leave the theater. Feel the power of both the artists and the performance at Spring Works.
Pre-show activities begin at 1 PM, followed by the performance at 2 PM
