Founded in 1932, and led by internationally renowned Music Director Christopher Warren-Green, we are the largest arts employer in the region, supporting 59 full-time musicians from diverse backgrounds. In partnership with the National Inventors Hall of Fame® (NIHF), Billingsville-Cotswold Elementary School is excited to offer the nationally acclaimed Camp Invention® program to children entering K through 6th grade. This inspiring, weeklong summer experience provides opportunities for open-ended, hands-on exploration of science, technology, engineering and more! Taking on a variety of exhilarating activities each day, children have fun collaborating with friends, thinking creatively and inventing their own solutions to real-world challenges. The N.C. Transportation Museum is a historic site, once home to Southern Railway’s largest steam locomotive repair facility in the southeast, and a museum featuring all types of transportation history – railroading, automotive, aviation, and more. 20-minute train rides are available on Saturdays and Sundays around the 60-acre museum site. The N.C. Transportation Museum is located in Spencer, NC about five minutes off I-85, about an hour’s drive from Charlotte, Greensboro or Winston-Salem.
